Hey everyone! I wanted to take a brief break from the usual blog post to add some pictures I didn’t get a change to share earlier and also to update you all on my plans for the end of the trimester!
A couple times Everton Hall hired a professional photographer for events but we weren’t provided those photos until after I had shared the blog post about that day.
So, here are some photos from the Everton Welcome Barbecue back in February, the week I arrived!

That photo of us is now hung up inside Everton Hall so I will live on in New Zealand!

Skipping ahead, at the end of April, we had the Masquerade Cocktail party! Here are some photos from that!

Two days after the cocktail party was the Everton Hall Birthday Party!

Now that we’ve gone over those events from the past, let’s switch gears and look to the future!
I am currently in my tenth week of class out of twelve. Our last day of class here is June 2nd so the trimester is speeding to an end, unfortunately. Once class is out, I don’t have any exams until June 19th so I’ve got around two weeks free. In the second half of that time, I’ve arranged a trip with my friends at the top of the North Island.
Four of us will fly to Auckland and from we will go on a tour to Hobbiton (Lord of the Rings film location that is now hosts tours) and the Waitomo Caves. We will then explore Auckland! Half of us are going back to Wellington after that but my friend Skye and I are going to continue on and take a bus up to Paihia in the Bay of Islands and then do a day trip to the northern-most point of New Zealand, Cape Reinga. We will also get to go sand surfing in a big sand dune at the top!

I’ll return to Wellington on June 17th after the weeklong trip and will then take my two final exams and say goodbye to Wellington before flying out on June 23rd.
I wanted to end my five month journey with one more exciting adventure in the Pacific and after much thought, I have decided to travel to Hawaii on my way home. I’ll fly on the 23rd to Honolulu, spend the day there and then fly to Maui for a few days before returning to Massachusetts. I think it will be nice to have something like that to look forward to when I am saying goodbye to Wellington.

But, that isn’t until end of June! Until then, I’m still living the ol’ New Zealand life. See you next post to learn more about what I was up to last week!

Hi David,
Great plans ahead!
Where is home for some of your study abroad friends?
Do any live in or near the Boston area?
Love,
Michael
